Bollywood Paintings

I was recently commissioned to complete a series of paintings based on Bollywood movie posters, which excited me as I find the subjects, use of colour, lettering style and overall drama very appealing. I researched into the history of the posters and found that the most interesting and typical examples were from the 1970’s.

The paintings in the series are acrylic on canvas, acrylic to me reflects the razzmatazz of Bollywood. They are displayed in the Bollywood Tadoori Restaurant in Broadstone. I have since been commissioned by the folks at Bollywood to complete a painting of Shilpa Shetty which is now hanging there and looks great! More paintings on the way, so please go and have a look!
