Since sometime in 2003 I have been using a small orange manual typewriter to create images. I type the numbers, letters, punctuation and other symbols with different intensities to build up tone and shape.

Some of my typed pieces originate from photographed images, and some are interpretations straight from life. I think the direct studies from life portray my drawing style and so take on a more personal quality.

I have completed many typed portraits for commissions as they make excellent and completely unique presents, especially for weddings!
